FOUR FAST, EASY INSERTION TECHNIQUES

Once the plates have been rejuvenated in a warm bath, they remain malleable at room temperature for several hours, during which time modifications can still be made.

The unique Inion screw design allows the surgeon to choose a preferred method of insertion.

1) Inion Tacker

1) Insert the screw-ring into loader.
2) Cock the Tacker by turning the handle clockwice.
3) Insert the chosen screw into the Tacker by pushing the loading button.
4) The screw is held at the tip of the piston and is retracted inside the cannula by a gentle push.

5) Press the cannula firmly against the screw hole and fire the screw into the aligned drill hole.

2) Drill-Tap

1) Drill the hole with a self tapping drill bit, using slow rpm. drill (max 200 rmp). Verify that the power console for the drill is set to very low rmp, and ensure that the drill bit is inserted before the drill stop contacts the plate or bone as appropriate. Failure to do so will strip the hole. Irrigate profusely while drilling to minimize possible necrosis.

2) Insert screw with a screwdriver. Do not overtighten.

3) Self Tapping Screw
Procedure for thin cortex (less than 2 mm)

1) Drill a hole.

2) Insert screw with a screwdriver. Do not overtighten.

4) Manual Tap

1) Drill a pilot hole.

2) Create threads using manual tap. Remove any bone dust and debris to ensure optimal implant contact with the bone surface.

3) Insert screw with a screwdriver, allowing the screw threads to follow the tapped threads. Take care not to apply excessive insertion force or torque.
